Born in Sussex, brought up in Surrey, and shaped in Spain, Sarah was unwittingly carving out her journalism career for a number of years.
After minor detours working as a potato-mash-scooping dinner lady and missing piece finder for a jigsaw puzzle manufacturer (true story), Sarah entered the world of media and communications in 2001 when she joined an award-winning London PR agency.
Despite showing great flair for pitching and storytelling, Sarah daydreamed of a life in the sun and upped sticks for the Costa del Sol, where she founded her own PR consultancy on April Fool’s Day 2004. In the years to follow, she cemented a reputation as a go-to agency for the residential property, travel and nautical industries.
The nauti writing went into overdrive when Sarah was asked to write MarinaLive! – a pull-out in Gibraltar’s free monthly newspaper GibLive!. She notched up over 800 articles, gaining a vast amount of knowledge and enthusiasm for yachting in the process.
In 2009, Sarah took a hop skip and a jump across the water to Mallorca – an even more lucrative and established yachty playground. Offers quickly came in to pen bright and breezy nautical pages for The Islander and Majorca Daily Bulletin, interspersed with bouts of presenting for (now-defunct) nautical channel NTVE and guest appearances on Radio One Mallorca.
Sarah’s spare time is devoted to her husband, a talented dentist, her Border Terriers Edwin and Barnes, and as many hours as possible onboard their Axopar 28 Mad Margaret.
